International Women's Day - 8th March
Women's Day is another auspicious day on this earth where the entire Arcadia bestow respect and honor to this holy soul without whom our universe will come to an end. Womens day come on 8th of March where the day is recognized throughout the world as 'International Women Day' and is celebrated to mark the spirit of womanhood. In India, it is an important day, when contributions from women are highlighted and celebrated. Many cultural programs, social meets and events are the highlights of women's day.
Why Womens Day is Celebrated?
It all started with an international conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark way back in 1910 where the need for International Women's Day was first felt. Subsequently, the United Nation General Assembly also came to a conclusion that a day be kept especially to honor women all across the world. Women Day celebrates the achievements of women and ensures continuance of efforts towards reforms for betterment of the feminist class. It wouldn't be wrong to conclude that Womens Day is about ensuring a society in which diversity, tolerance, safety, social justice and equality between women and men is a given. A celebration of what women have achieved, can achieve and are pursuing.

Gender inequality should be eradicated and provide women with equal opportunities in terms of selection of their career, political involvement, education and all the other aspects where men have enjoyed utmost dominance all this while.
When Womens Day is Celebrated?
In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a proclamation, which declared a special day to be kept for celebrating rights of Women and International Peace, a convention on similar lines was held in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1980. The outcome of sustained international efforts resulted in the declaration of 8th of March as the Women's Day.

In 1910 an international conference of women resolved that each year a day should be set aside to press for women's demands. Since then International Women's Day has been celebrated around the world each year on March 8th . From its inception, International Women's Day has stood for equality between women and men and is celebrated with lot of fanfare.
