Getting There :

1. By Air: Ranchi is the only city of Jharkhand which is connected by a daily flight to Mumbai via Delhi. Earlier there were flights to Kolkata also. It is expected that some more flights will be added soon.

2. By Rail: Ranchi is very well connected by railways to other parts of the country. Direct trains are there from Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Patna. Trains from Mumbai pass through Jamshedpur which is just 140 kms from Ranchi.

3. By Road: Buses of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation ply regularly.

Dassam Falls :
About 40 km. away from Ranchi on Tata Road falls a village named Taimara near which flows the Kanchi river, Falling from a height of about 144 feet Kanchi river makes a pretty fall called Dassam falls known as Dassam Ghagh also encircled with charming scences. The tourists are warned not to take bath in the falls or at least be careful while bathing in the stream.

Ranchi :
Ranchi, Capital of Jharkhand is also called as city of Water falls and lakes. Ranchi is a city of Falls and Forest. Dassam falls is 34 kms from Ranchi on Ranchi-Tata Road near a village called Taimara.

Dhanbad :
The city of Dhanbad or the ‘Coal Capital’ of India is one of the most important industrial destinations of the country. Famous for its rich coal mines, attractive neighborhoods, technical institutions and research centers, this great mining town forms a major tourist delight.

Bokaro :
The city of Bokaro in Jharkhand is famously known as the ‘steel city’ and houses the biggest steel plant of the country. Welcome to this world of steel right on the bank of river Damodar.

Tagore Hill :
About 3 km. from the Ranchi G.P.O. the Tagore Hill is about 300 ft. high. As the hill is associated with a history pertaining to Tagore family, it is known as Tagore Hill. A number of books are supposed to have been written by Rabindra Nath Tagore on the top of the hill. At the foot of the hill are situated the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and its office and center of Divyayan and agrarian vocational institute.
