Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) wholly owned arm of Honda Motor Corporation of Japan has witness rise in sales in Novemberwith 100,162 units, with 63,004 scooters and 37,158 motorcycles.
The company has always been the clear leader in the gearless scooter market ever since it launched the 100cc Activa less than a decade ago.
HMSI, however, did not make a promising start in motorcycles and the 150cc Unicorn, touted to be the challenger to the Bajaj Pulsar, only flattered to deceive. However, the two offerings in the 125cc segment, the Shine and Stunner, have been doing steady business of 30,000 units monthly.
Japan's Honda plans to launch its premium sports motorcycles, including the CBR1000RR this year.
We will launch two models in super bike category with 800-1,000 cc engines in this fiscal. Apart from this, we will also bring a new model in the mass market category before March next year, said the General Manager of Honda.
HMSI already has Unicorn motorcycle in the 150cc segment and Shine and CBF Stunner motorbikes in the 125cc segments.
